The small fluid head that puts your Seestar in EQ mode
Why we like the TH10:
- Longer stacks with no cropping: tilted to your latitude on the TH10, a Seestar tracks like an equatorial mount, so its image doesn't rotate during a long session and you keep the whole frame.
- All you need if you already own a TC20: the original Seestar S50 came with the TC20 carbon tripod, and the TH10 screws right onto it.
- Tiny and solid: CNC-machined aluminum, 411g (14.5oz) and 84mm tall, with fluid damping and printed scales that make setting your latitude easy.
- Worth knowing: the TH10 doesn't work on the short tripod that comes with the Seestar S30. S30 and S30 Pro owners should get the TH10 and TC20 kit, or use the head on a full-size tripod.
The ZWO Seestar TH10 Fluid Tripod Head is a compact hydraulic video head that ZWO designed as the EQ wedge for its Seestar smart telescopes. It tilts from -90° to +90° and pans 360°, so you can tip a Seestar to your latitude, point it north and switch to EQ mode in the Seestar app. It's also a full-metal fluid head for cameras and camcorders up to 5kg (11lb), with a 1/4" quick release plate, a 3/8" adapter and a 3/8" base thread.
Key specs: 411g (14.5oz) · 5kg (11lb) load · tilt -90° to +90°, 360° pan · hydraulic damping · 1/4" quick release plate screw with 3/8" adapter · 3/8" base thread · 84mm tall, 50mm base · aluminum alloy

What EQ mode does for your images
- Hours on one target: stack the Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy or the Heart Nebula for an hour or more and keep the full field.
- Cleaner edges: no rotated, ragged borders on your stacked images.
- Big targets stay framed: keep large objects like the North America Nebula centered through a long session.
How to set it up
- Open your tripod on a flat surface with one leg pointing roughly north, and center the bubble level.
- Screw the 1/4" to 3/8" adapter into the bottom of your Seestar and tighten it with the coin wrench, then attach the quick release plate.
- Mount the TH10 on the tripod with its dovetail groove facing north, in line with the north-facing leg.
- Slide the Seestar onto the head, set the tilt scale to your latitude (about 40° here in Denver), then switch to EQ mode in the Seestar app.
Note: ZWO doesn't recommend the TC20 with a Seestar S50 in EQ mode below 15° latitude, because the S50 can hit the tripod legs at some angles. That doesn't affect anyone in the continental US.
What to add for the best results
- Seestar TC20 carbon fiber tripod (required if you don't have a TC20 or full-size tripod): the short, stiff tripod ZWO pairs with the TH10.
- TH10 and TC20 kit: the head and tripod together, the easiest choice for Seestar S30 and S30 Pro owners.
- Precision tripod leveler: fine leveling under the head without adjusting the tripod legs.
- Spare TH10 quick release plate: keep one on your Seestar and one on a camera.

Seestar TH10 FAQ
Which Seestar models does it work with?
ZWO designed the TH10 for running the Seestar S30, S30 Pro and S50 in EQ mode. On an S30 or S30 Pro, use it with a TC20 or full-size tripod rather than the S30's small tripod.
I have a Seestar S50. Is this all I need?
Yes. The original S50 came with a TC20 tripod, and the TH10 screws onto it.
Do I need EQ mode?
Not for quick looks or short sessions. EQ mode matters when you stack a target for an hour or more, because it stops the field rotation that crops the edges of alt-az images.
Is it hard to polar align?
No. Point one tripod leg and the head's dovetail north, set the tilt to your latitude using the printed scale, then switch the Seestar app to EQ mode.
Can I use it with a camera?
Yes. It's a standard fluid video head with a 5kg (11lb) rating and a 1/4" quick release plate, so it works with DSLRs, mirrorless cameras and camcorders, and it fits any tripod with a 3/8" screw.
