Why we like the TC20:
- Lifts and levels your Seestar: each leg adjusts on its own, from 235mm to 365mm (9.3–14.4 in) tall, so you can level the telescope on uneven ground and keep it up out of damp grass.
- Light but stiff: it weighs about 0.6kg (1.3lb) and ZWO rates it for 30kg (66lb), far more than any Seestar or the TH10 fluid head.
- Ready for EQ mode: add the TH10 fluid head and the TC20 becomes the base for running a Seestar S30, S30 Pro or S50 in equatorial mode.
- Worth knowing: this is the tripod that came with the original Seestar S50. It's a different model from the tripod included with the Seestar S50 Pro.
The ZWO Seestar TC20 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a compact tripod made for Seestar smart telescopes. It's a step up from the short, fixed tripod that comes with the Seestar S30 and S30 Pro, and a direct replacement for the tripod that came with the original Seestar S50. Carbon fiber legs with rubber feet give a steady, non-slip base, a standard 3/8" screw on top fits a Seestar, the TH10 head or a leveling base, and the tripod folds to 265mm (10.4 in) and packs into the included drawstring bag.

What it's good for
- Upgrading a Seestar S30 or S30 Pro: more height and adjustable legs than the stock tripod.
- EQ mode: with the TH10 fluid head on top, tilt the Seestar to your latitude and stack long sessions on targets like the Orion Nebula or the Andromeda Galaxy without field rotation cropping the edges.
- Replacing or adding a second S50 tripod: keep one set up for EQ mode and one for quick alt-az sessions.
- Small cameras: the 3/8" screw takes a tripod head for a camera or spotting scope.
How to set it up
Unfold the legs, extend each to the length you want and lock it, and stand the tripod on firm ground. For EQ mode, point one leg roughly north. Adjust the leg lengths to level the head, then thread on your Seestar, the TH10 head or a leveling base. ZWO's TH10 instructions walk through mounting the head with its dovetail groove facing north, in line with that north leg.
Note: ZWO doesn't recommend a Seestar S50 on the TH10 and TC20 in EQ mode below 15° latitude, because the head can hit a leg at some angles. That doesn't affect anyone in the continental US.

- ZWO Seestar TH10 fluid head: the head that lets a Seestar run in EQ mode on this tripod.
- Precision tripod leveler: fine leveling on top of the tripod without adjusting the legs.
- ZWO Seestar S30 Pro: if you don't have a Seestar yet.

Is this the same tripod that came with the Seestar S50?
Yes, the TC20 is the tripod ZWO included with the original Seestar S50. It isn't the tripod that comes with the Seestar S50 Pro.
Does it fit the Seestar S30 and S30 Pro?
Yes. ZWO designed it for the S30 and S30 Pro as an upgrade from their stock tripod, and its 3/8" screw fits the Seestar's base.
Do I need it for EQ mode?
You need a tripod under the TH10 head, and the TC20 is the one ZWO pairs with it. If you need both, the TH10 + TC20 kit includes the two together.
How tall is it?
235–365mm (9.3–14.4 in) without a head, which puts a Seestar at a comfortable height on a table or a few inches above the ground.
Can I use it with a camera?
Yes. Add a tripod head with a 3/8" thread, like the TH10, and it holds a small camera or spotting scope up to the head's rating (5kg for the TH10).
