This is an Orion 50mm extension tube that slips into a 1.25" focuser or diagonal. It is threaded on the telescope side, but not the other end, which has thumbscrews.
Extension tubes allow for additional back-spacing in your imaging train. Different cameras and equipment combinations require different spacers.
